Prince Edward (Earl of Wessex) & his wife Sophie (Countess of Wessex) attended the opening of a new community centre and sensory garden for disabled children and their families in Wokingham Borough.
The project had been led and funded by the charity: Building for the Future. This is a parent-led charity, all of whom have disabled children.
The centre included a play space, parents room, meeting room, and office. While the garden included a selection of sensory planting, artificial turf and play panels for educational and emotional benefits.
The construction company who managed the project required wheelchair access to the garden.
A concrete ramp was considered too expensive and labour-intensive due to the drying time needed. Therefore, they sort an alternative from Rapid Ramp.
We offered them a recycled modular ramp at a much-discounted cost. Unlike concrete, our modular ramp is a simpler, off-the-shelf system that can be used immediately once it is in situ.
We were given the task of supplying and installing the system at very short notice but were adamant about completing it before the grand opening date.
Thanks to our dedicated team, the modular ramp was ready a few days beforehand!

"The opening of the building was a massive success this morning and everyone gave us glowing compliments of our work that we produced for them.
I am very proud of our guys here at Slough for their hard word and commitment to achieve the vision that they wanted for this building, and the fantastic assistance from our valued contractors / suppliers who helped was very much appreciated. The children and adults loved the garden and we hope they have many years of enjoyment in this safe and colorful area."
