TEMPORARY STEPS
Temporary steel steps are available for hire and provide short-term access into prefabricated buildings such as marquees, portable cabins, modular offices and classrooms.
The product also continues to be a safe, sustainable substitute to the single-use wooden step unit.

Traditionally, carpenters would build temporary plywood steps with tanalised wooden handrails. However, the plywood often becomes very slippery after only weeks of weather exposure, and the handrails become loose. Wooden step units are a one-use product and are disposed of after use.
Unlike wooden steps, our temporary steel steps are reusable and slip-resistant.
The product is hot-dip galvanised in accordance with BS EN ISO 14713-2:2020, and all components (excluding the platforms and ramp legs) are coated with thermosetting powder to provide a non-conductive, non-slip and scratch resistant surface.
SERVICE PACKAGE
Design, supply, installation and removal is all included.
Please note this package is not available for residential end-user customers.
FEATURES
All standard features (excluding a platform) are included:
- Mesh Platform - This self-draining mesh platform allows water to pass through rather than puddle on the surface and potentially freeze.
- Trombone End - These are added to the ends of a Rapid Ramp to prevent clothes catching.
- Standard Handrail - Designed to provide stability and support. These are coated with thermosetting powder to provide a non-conductive, non-slip and scratch resistant surface.
- Telescopic Legs - Legs can be adjusted to accommodate different threshold heights.
SIZES
The beauty of this system is that there are two variations of rail sets that can cater for 350 – 750mm ground to floor height.
The step treads can be used interchangeably between the sets.
DO YOU NEED TEMPORARY ACCESS UNTILL YOUR PERMANENT SYSTEM IS READY?
Once your building is on-site, contact us. At this stage, the ground is normally crushed stone, and the concrete/tarmac path and carpark is yet to go in.
We can complete the survey for your permanent system and fit your temporary steps all on the same day. This will mean safe short-term access will be available to the workforce until your final modular ramp or steps are ready.
When fitting the permanent ramp, we remove the temporary solution and take it back to our warehouse, ready for your next requirement.
