COME RAIN OR SHINE, THE INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETED ON TIME
Healthcare
Leicester, East Midlands
REQUIREMENT:
Two modular rental ramps to provide wheelchair access and match the hire period of the ambulance surge hub.
DESIGN PHASE:
END RESULT:
The ramps were installed in just two days, despite challenging wet weather. Our team worked through intermittent rain to ensure the project was completed on time.
All components, including handrails and platforms, are galvanised—a process that applies a protective zinc coating to prevent rust and inhibit moss growth. In addition, most components (excluding the platforms and ramp legs) are powder-coated, creating a tougher and more durable finish than standard paint.
These treatments allow the system to withstand impact and remain resilient in Britain’s ever-changing weather conditions. The ramps also feature a self-draining mesh platform, which prevents puddling, reduces moss growth, and provides excellent slip resistance.
Unlike our Rapid Ramp System, a concrete installation would not have been possible under such wet conditions, as concrete requires at least 24 hours of drying time. Similarly, traditional materials like wood are prone to rotting in damp weather, with standing water creating hazardous slip risks.
Once the rental period ends, the ramps will be dismantled and returned to our hire stock, ready for reuse on another project.
