Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge Stadium
London
REQUIREMENT:
A fully compliant access ramp was required to the new Ticket Collection Point (TCP) to ensure the facility was fully accessible for wheelchair users, while meeting Parts M and K of the Building Regulations.
The TCP acts as an important measure during home games, helping ensure tickets are issued to genuine supporters purchasing through official channels, while supporting efforts to reduce ticket touting.
For each men’s home game at Stamford Bridge, around 1,000 fans are invited to attend the TCP prior to kick-off to verify their identity in person and activate their tickets.
DESIGN PHASE:
We provided the client with a 2D plan alongside a 3D model illustrating a proposed straight ramp configuration, designed to accommodate the threshold height of the cabin entrance.
The drawings helped guide discussions between the contractor and the Head of Facilities at Chelsea F.C., allowing everyone to review and understand the design proposal together and achieve quicker project sign-off.
The ramp system is provided on a hire basis and will remain in place for the duration of the season.
INSTALLATION:
Once the cabin was positioned on the exterior concourse at the front of the stadium, the ramp system was installed the following day, providing safe and step-free access for visitors.
At the end of the season, the ramp will be carefully dismantled, with all components returned to our warehouse for storage and reuse on future hire projects.
Choosing a modular ramp provides a sustainable alternative to traditional timber or concrete solutions, which are often constructed as permanent or single-use installations. Timber ramps frequently require disposal once they are no longer needed, while concrete structures carry high embodied carbon and can generate significant demolition waste.
In contrast, our reusable modular ramp systems can be dismantled and redeployed across multiple projects, helping to minimise waste and reduce overall carbon impact. The result is a practical, flexible, and environmentally responsible access solution.
